Lofty Camp is one of Lofty Ventures’ signature events. It’s hosted annually at glamping site Off Map, a former Lofty portfolio company (exited in 2023), in southwest Michigan. Lofty Camp brings together members of the Lofty community to unplug, build deeper relationships, and enjoy nature together. But mind you, this IS NOT roughing it…see the pics and you’ll get what I mean. The accommodations are incredible.
To celebrate the World Cup coming to North America and the U.S. team’s run on home soil, Lofty Camp 2026 is taking to the pitch. Campers will split into Team Lofty Ventures and Team Lofty Angels, don custom jerseys, and play soccer until we drop. Then we’ll spend the evening sitting around the campfire telling increasingly legendary stories about our epic goals.
This year we will be joined by our special guest, Jamison Merill, PhD, who has over 15 years of experience designing, implementing, and evaluating adolescent health and youth development programs in global and domestic settings. His passion for sport as a tool for social change began during four years in Cape Town, South Africa, working with Grassroot Soccer, a global adolescent health organization that uses soccer to engage young people about their health. Since 2010, Jamison has developed and evaluated sport-based health and youth development programs for Grassroot Soccer in more than 20 countries across four continents. He continues to support sport-based initiatives in the US and globally as a Senior Researcher and Managing Director at Outcomes Collaborative LLC, based in Chicago. Beyond his professional work, Jamison actively serves on leadership and advisory councils, including the Chicago Park District’s Health and Wellness Advisory Council. Grassroot Soccer was co-founded by Lofty’s Survivor in Residence and our Lofty Camp 2024 special guest, Ethan Zohn.
